Product Information

The Canon EOS 1D Mark III is a 10.1-megapixel camera that Canon produced and released in May 2007. This digital single lens reflex camera has a CMOS-based sensor that the company calls single plate. With a standard Canon EF lens mount, it can accommodate other Canon and aftermarket lenses that are compatible with the mount. The range of its shutter speed is from 1/8000 to 30 seconds in increments of 1/3 stops. Since it is one of the earlier Mark models, it has 1.3x crop factor as opposed to the crop factor values of full-frame Mark models. Among its other features include a 45-point autofocus system, 63-zone TTL full aperture metering, continuous shooting, and a rear LCD monitor.

Excellent camera, still relevant even today.
Not much to say, AF is fast and very programmable. Frame rate is fast, its built like a frickin tank, weighs more than your car. But it's a fantastic camera and love it. Produces excellent pictures and you can really notice the difference in DOF and Bokeh compared to a 1.6 crop camera. One thing I notice is it doesn't quite have the same highlight holding capability as more modern cameras. It's not bad by any means but you can't pull the exposure quite as much in post as a more modern camera. Noise is very good, not 1Dx level but still very nice. Bottom line for anything that requires speed this is an excellent value for the money and if you score a decent deal you can still share the bateries and charger with a 1Dx in the future and keep the body as a backup.

Canon EOS-1D Mark III - a Great Value!
The Canon EOS-1D Mark III is a truly professional grade DSLR that you can now buy for about $500. It is truly hard to believe that this excellent camera sold for over $5000 only a few years ago. It takes excellent 10 megapixel images at up to 10 pictures per second. It has excellent autofocus capabilities and 45 zone focus in the finder. The only disadvantage is it is rather large and heavy, but it makes up for it with all of it's image quality. Some newer cameras have 24 and 36 megapixel sensors, but the hard truth is 10 megapixels is enough for any print I am likely to ever make. I love the camera, especially when I am taking pictures of my son's soccer games.

Simply amazing!
I was really big in film photography with an Eos-1N and I just wanted to try something different so I decided to buy a digital. I was a little skeptical at first given that this camera is now over a decade old but oh my was I wrong. The image quality and color depth is amazing! Truly a great camera from Canon! Everything is great about it minus some features you have to read the manual to get familiar with them. Other than that I would 11/10 recommend for anyone who’s trying to get serious about photography!

Canon 1D Mark III
I have wanted this camera for the longest, and thought the price would never come down. This is probably the best camera Canon has every built, with features the other 1D cameras don't have, including the newer 1D Mk IV. I shoot several music festivals, and rain does not scare me with this weather resistant camera. The 10 MP is not a problem, as I usually shoot my 20MP 70D at medium size RAW. The first thing I noticed about this camera, was the color quality, which is better than any of my other Canons.

Rock Solid
Having owned several Mark II versions of this camera the first thing I noticed about the Mark III was it is lighter than the Mark II thanks to the Lithium battery. Being lighter is a good thing plus the new battery seems to last forever. The other improvement that immediately comes to mind is the ability to shoot at high ISO numbers and still get beautiful pictures. A larger rear screen is nice too. I'm normally a single shot kinda guy (I buy the 1D series because of the lower price versus the 1DS versions) but I've tried out the continuous frame shooting a few times and it's simply amazing. All in all, pretty much the perfect camera for me.

One of the best Camera
It focus very fast and accurate still one of the best flagship camera. It would only take photos for a great fine art prints. Great for sports and the battery has great taking 1800photos

Just feels like quality
I love the EOS 1D. I have owned others in the past and this is an upgrade for me. It is a very rugged camera and I run it through its paces. If you are looking for something light this is NOT what you want but if you durability and something that you could actually use as a weapon (just kidding) this is you.

good heavy weight ?
couldn't believe this was a "used" item! The only item that seemed to have use was the instruction manual. The photo's at least in 4 x 6 format are very sharp and the color is right on. All accessories were clean etc.

Easy to use great pictures
Great Pictures, Simple to use, Built like a tank and weatherproof. Even though it is heavier than my other cameras, I find that I like the weight and get steadier shots. If you don't need all the bells and whistles this is the camera to have.
