Experience the magic and mystery of shooting on film with the classic Nikon FE 35-millimeter SLR camera. Launched in 1978 and available until 1984, this semi-professional model provides the versatility of both manual and aperture-priority auto exposure. It can meet the demands of any project whether you're an amateur or experienced photographer. The FE was one of Nikon's earliest battery-powered cameras and comes with an automatic light meter and electronic shutter. Otherwise, the unit is completely mechanical. It allows you to practice your creativity while taking advantage of a few automated functions. A 50-millimeter lens is ideal for this popular camera. This Nikon FE is compatible with Nikon lenses that date all the way back to the 1950s. It has an aperture coupling pin that flips down. This is useful for a large variety of AI and non-AI lenses. You can even utilize a pre-AI Nikkor, but you may need to keep the camera in stop-down metering mode. By using a manual focus lens with an aperture ring, you can get optimal results from this Nikon product. The body is compact and lightweight at 400 grams. Without the lens, it measures 7.1 inches by 3 inches by 2.2 inches. With its intuitive controls and flexible design, the FE is user-friendly and easy to maneuver. Nikon built these cameras for durability. Each one has a metal body that is covered with a black leather-like material and trimmed in chrome brass. The lens mount is made of pure stainless steel. Although the camera is precise, it doesn't use much power. It requires either a 3V 2L44 lithium battery or two S76 or A76 cells. These tiny batteries can last for years, and they are disconnected when the meter is turned off. By shooting flash at 1/90 speed, you can save battery juice as well. The check light will come on if you have the batteries loaded correctly. The gauge will tell you weeks in advance when they need to be replaced. The Nikon FE takes nice pictures in the early morning and late evening hours. It has a mechanical bulb mode. With an analog internal circuitry, the system times long exposures automatically. First, it measures and locks the exposure, and then the mirror flips up for 10 seconds. No cable release is necessary. Afterward, the mirror will lock up and return. This SLR film camera has a metal-bladed, vertical-travel, focal-plane shutter with a speed range of eight to 1/1000 seconds. The release has a lock mechanism to keep you from exposing unintentionally. With a maximum speed of 1/125 electronically with flash, the action is fast and effective. It has two mechanical backup speeds plus an advance lever and crank rewind. The unit's analog needle is quick to respond. In the viewfinder, you'll be able to see the metered value and automatically selected speed. A green, transparent needle can also be seen showing the position of the shutter speed dial. The metering is shown almost exclusively within the large circle in the middle of the viewfinder. This Nikon classic will take a standard K screen as well as a B or E screen. This camera is extra great quality and makes great pictures, if you need great film camera, here it is.
I like the way it works, very accurate, very sharp lens, although very old, with some dust, but it never influences the final pics, still it is sharper than any of those modern plastic extra expensive things. When you learn to work with film camera, this is the great choice, and am feeling it is super cool at natural light in the early morning and late evenings, so alive, so smooth, so deep and so atmospheric. it is the best thing I have tried, and I ain't gonna sell it anyway until it is working. unexpected problem
It worked normally when I just receive it. However, after few days, the batteries gone quickly, which only last a few hours even I change brand new batteries. And after that, the shutter doesn't work on all shutter speed, only M90 and B shutter work. The original Nikon Df
What can I say , I now have a D3x,800,600 and a dozen Nikkor lenses of which 4 are good old Ai and Ai-s Picked this up for the true fun of shooting on slide and low ISO settings @ 25 which most people now think is useless. That's because they don't understand the beauty of waking before dawn fighting off bugs to get a great shot of a sunrise through the trees over a lake. All done without photoshop and planned by them. Oh here I go ranting. This is the camera I saved to buy back in 79,along with a 58 noct lens. It took me forever to pay off my lay away at camera store but did it. Wish I still had that lens but that's another story. I have always loved the feel and looks of the Fe. If you want a great light and basically perfect film body this is it. So in all eventuality I have come full circle forty years later. This will not replace the ease of point evaluate and ability to snap lots of unused frames. But it will be used to compare a test shots. Using same lens on FE D3 D600 and D800. The nice thing is getting negatives back with scanned pictures on disc will allow for sandwiching the best shots together for the illusion of HDRBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Broken camera
Had to take it to a shop to get the stripped screws on the bottom plate removed and have the broken piece inside the camera replaced. Best set yet
I got lucky on this set; a beautiful, full-working Nikon FE with two original lenses and some nice extras. The 28 mm prime Nikkor is a treasure. The 70 - 205 telephoto is also excellent and also a Nikkor. This only require fresh Energizer #375 batteries.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
