  • Minolta compared to Coolscan 9000...

I bought both a Coolscan 9000 and this Nikon. No comparison, the Coolscan is a superior product. The 9000 has far more accurate color rendition. In addition the Minolta I bought suffers from many small, random black pixel spots which are apparent when you enlarge on screen and difficult to get rid of in post processing. Maybe it's a maintenance / cleaning issue but it's hard to understand where these are coming from. My guess is it's an electronics problem, something injecting noise into the image files. The Coolscan on the other hand makes perfect images down to the pixel level.
