Product Information
The Yamaha YSP-4000 features multi-channel surround sound. It has 42 separate speakers that project five distinct sound beams by reinforcing (in phase), cancelling (out of phase), and delaying sound. The five beams bounce off the walls to surround you with sound. The Yamaha YSP-4000 includes subwoofer output for an additional powered sub. The five beam settings to choose from are the standard five beam surround that delivers five full-range channels; the stereo-plus-three beam that has a left and right side stereo, a center channel, and both left side and right side surround channels; the three beam which has left, right, and center channels; My Surround: direct beams (not bounced), for close proximity listening; Stereo, which gives you a 2-channel and a 5-channel stereo delivery, but without surround sound; and My Beam: one beam that is either manually adjustable or automatically adjusted with the use of a microphone located in the body of the remote control. Surround sound and the subwoofer can be disabled manually or automatically via the remote control’s microphone. The multi-brand wireless remote is programmable and controls cable boxes, satellite receivers, TVs, VCRs, and DVD players. The Yamaha YSP-4000 offers seven surround modes. Yamaha’s proprietary Cinema DSP (Digital Soundfield Processing) chip provides options for a huge variety of musical, film, and sports venues. For the most sensational sound, Euphony is integrated in this system. Euphony is the name of Yamaha's cutting-edge sound field system. For easy setup, the Yamaha YSP 4000 IntelliBeam employs a combination of beam and sound optimizers. The Optimizer Microphone performs checks and makes automatic adjustments for ideal sound. Of course, if you prefer Manual Beam Setup, you can input placement parameters, position (flat to angled), room dimensions, measure the distance from your YSP-4000 unit to your room's left wall and then measure from the system's speaker to where you will be when listening to the system. Adjust treble gain, image location, and tone. On-screen display (OSD) is output only through the composite video jack (not through the HDMI output). It is designed to help during the initial setup of your system. There are three memory registers to save the beam and sound settings for a variety of conditions that affect sound. Also, set a “turn-on volume” for consistency. The night listening features three options—cinema, music, and television—and includes low-volume for late-night listening and improved clarity for dialog. When on, SRS TruBass produces the perception of improved low-frequency performance, with or without a subwoofer. The sleep timer is designed s o you can set it to turn the unit off after your choice of 30 minutes, one hour, 90 minutes, or two hours. The YSP-4000 is XM satellite ready, has an FM Tuner for manual or automatic tuning, and is iPod compatible. Additionally, the Yamaha 4000 allows for an optional dock for connecting your iPod to the rear panel’s port. The Yamaha YSP-4000 can be placed on a shelf or stand, or mounted on the wall. Four threaded mounting holes have been drilled in the back of this unit to give you the option of attaching the optional wall-mount bracket. Position the YSP in front of a wall or within a corner. For surround sound, the room must have side and rear walls for beam reflection. (Yamaha recommends that the unit not be placed on top of a CRT tube TV.) The Yamaha YSP-4000 supports resolutions up to 1080p via HDMI and HDMI-control. Analog video inputs are scalable to 720p or 1080i from the HDMI output.Product Identifiers
