Great sound in a small package
I have only had Peavey amplifiers in the 30 years I've been playing bass. I had a used Combo 300. When that died I took the electronics out and used it as a speaker cab for a used Mark IV head. I finally decided to treat myself with a brand new amp. The Max 115 is just amazing. The built-in tuner and XLR line-out consolidate two pieces of equipment that I won't have to carry anymore. I love the TransTube technology and the PsychoAcoustic low end enhancement features. The Max 115 is packed with power and features at an affordable price!

Small Box, BIG BOOM.
This was purchased for a bassist who tunes his 5 string a whole step down, (A-D-G-C-F) low to high. He needed to travel light, in order to minimize shipping weight for tour. We decided to go with the 115, 300 watt MAX. As you may have surmised by now..., we were skeptical about the ability of this combo to handle the down tuned, active Fender J-bass V. I can assure you that not only can it handle the tuning without farting-out, it did so without the use of the sub-harmonic feature! He was able to dial in his tone, and has used it at stage volume. We also purchased the extended warranty for additional peace of mind. I've been his tech since he began playing bass, We were both floored by the performance, and marveled at the weight of the unit also.

For the money, you just can't beat it!
i've played Peavey amps since the 70s and they are always overrated on the output wattage. It's a 300 watt but sounds closer to 200 watts. That was to be expected. The only feature that it lacks is a level control for the Aux input. Nice rugged construction. Looks great and sounds good. Great value priced bass combo amp.

Perfect for the size and money
1x15", 300 Watts, and xlr out?!?! Perfect combination can be large enough for most indoor shows minus arenas but xlr for main foh support.. love this amp

Nice amp if you get a functioning one.
The first one that I purchased was defective but the second one works great and I really like it a lot.
