The quality of the 1-4x24 is outstanding, and it can compete in tactical optics with the best of them.Reticle and turret equivalent measurements allow accurate shots. Argon gas purging and filling prevent internal fogging, even in conditions of bitterly cold thermal shock. The argon gas, having larger molecules than nitrogen, helps ensure against leakage. Special seals keep the Vortex Viper PST riflescope 100% waterproof and shockproof, so feel free to use it in any weather situation. The scope is just short of ten inches long and just over one pound in weight. This makes the Viper PST 1-4x24 compatible with any rifle regardless of size. Whether it’s accessorizing a short carbine to a big game rifle, the Viper PST is an excellent choice.The hard anodization coat, finish type 3, provides a durable, low-glare matte finish on the scope’s body. The exterior lenses, coated with ArmorTek, have a super hard scratch-resistant coating. The black matte finish reduces glare and aids in concealment. The single tube is precision-machined from a single solid block of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. This adds to its accuracy and makes it resistant to high-powered recoil and practically unbreakable. It offers a parallax setting of 100 yards and a maximum elevation and windage adjustment of 220 MOA. The turrets are adjustable to zero in 1/2 MOA clicks without tools. The etched lit reticle allows rapid target acquisition, even without battery power. The reticle illumination provides for precise aiming regardless of light conditions. The proprietary XR anti-reflection coating increases light transmission with multiple coatings on all exterior surfaces. The fully multi-coated optics give you crisp, sharp images in most lighting conditions. The optically indexed lenses deliver the best possible sight picture in sharpness and brightness.The lenses are made of extra-low dispersion glass leading to brilliant color quality, high resolution, negligible image deformation, and greater light transmission. The illuminated red dot reticle, with 10 different power levels, provides quick target acquisition and precise aiming in any environment. Power level 1 is for night vision. Power levels 2 through 5 are for low light conditions. Power levels 6 through 10 are for brighter conditions. On the illumination power settings, there is a spot between each power setting that will turn the illumination off. So if you run your optic on five you can switch the optic off with a single click forward. You can turn it back to five by moving the switch one click backward.Dialing down to 1x gives you the ability to shoot with both eyes open. It also gives the scope an exit pupil of 24, making it superb in low light conditions. The 4-inch eye relief makes this scope suitable for big game hunting with magnum loads. Vortex Viper Gen1; the secret bargain!
After extensively reading and watching reviews, going to multiple stores with LPVOs and figuring out what I really wanted, this was the best deal by far. The optic glass is comparable to the more expensive Viper Gen 2 than the Strike Eagles and far superior. The reticle is my main buying point as well with the segmented circle that’s daylight bright illuminated. The adjustment turrets are a bit oversized but that is a feature of this model. Quality Scope
I had done quite a bit of research to find a quality scope for my semi-auto rifle. My first inclination was not the Vortex scope but after reading so many positive reviews regarding the Vortex Viper PST 1x4x24 I decided to give it a try. Boy, am I glad I did! The glass is extremely clear, and is a good indication as to why the scope is a little heavier than comparable scopes. I like the second focal plane reticle as it maintains the same MOA center dot regardless of the power setting. Moving between the power levels is smooth but not sloppy. The reticle itself is simple and easy to use, and doesn't take up as much field of view as some other scopes. The adjustment knobs are solid yet still easy to manipulate. The reticle power settings work very well and I particularly like the "off" settings between each power level. Good Scope
I went with Vortex because of quality and warranty. I'm not thrilled with the reticle on this particular scope. It's very hard to see in lower light conditions, however, when illuminated it is awesome. It's best just to always keep it illuminated when you're shooting it. The magnification dial is harder to turn than I like, but I'm picky. Scope is awesome though. This is me second PST. I have a high power viper on my .308 bolt gun & love it. Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24

Works great!

Perfect scope

Hard to view the retical in the day time.
The Vortex Viper PST is very well made & it looks great. The only problem I had was using the scope during the daytime. The reticle is very difficult to see, it's not bright enough & the size is very small. I returned it for a Trijicon product.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

I think the scope would work for some. I thought the reticle was too small and too difficult to see. Was not enough power for what I wanted. Viper FFP MRAD
Precise audible clicks for dialing in, clear visuals with excellent light transmission I've glassed objects between 50 yards-800 yards and was able to clearly identify what I was looking at. Holds zero after repeated removal and install (Installed on a Bobro Mount) and tracks precisely with good audible clicks and grippy knobs usable even with gloves. This scope is comparable to many $1k+ scopes I've looked through with extra features not really found in similarly priced scopes. I've done alot of research and the only scopes I've found to be comparable either lack the FFP feature, lack parallax adjustment, lack in quality turrets, lack in clarity or a combination of combined features as previously stated. The USA made Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x is the Viper's nearest comparison at $1.4k+ . Im very pleased with the quality of build, the clarity, precision, and overall usability of this model.
