The Kenwood TS-140S has handy bodywork where front-panel controls are laid out strategically. In addition, a digital frequency display and lightweight design makes the device easy to operate and move with ease. TS-140S can withstand background static, giving users a clear and continuous audio experience using a powerful radio antenna. The transmitter has two VFOs that allow band split operation, called SSB and CW splits, which offers diversity to its audio capabilities. The split frequency is useful for 10-meter FM repeater operations. This device has a modern touch as it also features adjustable scanning speed and an exceptional 500 kHz to 30 MHz broad coverage receiver. The receiver has superior dynamic range without filter reception restrictions while delivering excellent-quality voice transmissions.The TS-140S has a brightly lit, blue-colored digital frequency display panel, which offers a lot of information on one screen. In addition, information such as VFO, memory position, and RIT are shown in assortments of colors such as red, blue, and yellow. Similarly, Kenwood also supports 10 Hz read-outs in the front panel, which is useful for TS-140S operators as they don't need to open the rig to make internal modifications. There are two main knobs for tuning, which include variable frequency oscillator tuning control and a memory channel knob. Operating the two knobs of the TS-140S to transmit is simple to learn.
