Enhance your radio-frequency engineering skills with this compact, functional, and easy-to-operate Yaesu FT-990 HF transceiver. Equipped with multiple direct digital synthesizers, the ham radio guarantees pure local signals for high performance. The AC-model radio transmits on all modes including AM, FM, SSB, CW, RTTY, and PSK and the device operates from 120 VAC. The RF output is 100 to 110 watts on all bands and the triple-conversion receiver tunes from 100 kHz to 30 MHz, a suitable frequency range for wireless experimentation. The portable radio has a carry handle, hand mic, power cable, user and service manual, and an antenna tuner. Additional enhancements include noise reduction, 90 band storage memories, digital filtering, dual digital Variable Frequency Oscillators (manual and auto), and an Intermediate Frequency shift and notch. Yaesu 990 was a Great transciever I liked that it was powered by AC instead of DC that saved me from buying a power supply also it has auto antenna

Great Radio
I bought this FT-900 used and I'm extremely happy with it. The receiver is super and for the first time I could get on 80 meters with a wire dipole. easy to use
controls easy to find. use of antenna tuner fast simple. good dsp filter and other filters. good audio reports, simple cw operation. simple power control and swr report. plasma readout is dependable. versatile for any mode of transmission. good sensitively and selectivity. weight is manageable for old fellow. Works as well as any modern transceiver
The FT-990 is one of the best radios ever made by Yaesu. The mechanical construction is far superior to anything today. The FT-990 is a top quality piece of gear. Heavy too! The receiver is quiet, the digital filtering works is great, and the controls work well. If you can pick one up for around $800, grab it.
