Product Information

This vintage Icom IC-910H radio transceiver is truly one of a kind. It sets the standard in amateur satellite radios with its full 100 watts of power on VHF surpassing the need for an external high-power amplifier. You can also put out 75 watts on 70cm, which should help DX stations hear your signal under even the worst conditions. The radio transceiver can be operated with a PC through two separate frequency bands. The machine offers users four scanning functions, a voice synthesizer option, and a built-in CW electronic keyer for those who want to keep up their Morse code skills. If you prefer to key your own code, then you can use the front jacks on the IC-910H to attach a straight key or a semiautomatic bug. While it might have been designed with satellite users in mind, the support for both CW and SSB technologies makes it ideal for those interested in weak signal work. This Icom rig features transmitters for the SSB, CW, FM, and FM-N modes. You'll receive a guaranteed range of 144–148 MHz and 430–450 MHz for all of these modes. It's compatible with Icom 1.2 GHz UX-910 converter modules as well. The IC-910H also functions as a police band receiver when the transmitter is switched off. This high-power transceiver ensures its users are able to enjoy their conversations by offering an industry-standard stability circuit and DSP mode. CTCSS circuits allow you to access closed repeaters. There are also switched transmission circuits for use with packet and radioteletype software. All of these circuits work on both the VHF and UHF band settings. A UT-106 slot allows you to add additional signal processing circuits.Icom installed 328 separate memory channels on the IC-910H, which can each hold their own VHF/UHF input and output pair. Ten of these can be dedicated to more than one band for use with AMSAT orbital repeaters. All of the memory addresses can be edited with the same PC software used to control the radio. Two separate antenna jacks allow you to connect both N-Type and SO-239 preamplifiers to the unit. Weak signal modes offer a 0.11 µV sensitivity, while you should be able to pull out FM signals at around 0.18 µV. This gives you the ability to hear far-off stations on the national 146.52 MHz calling channel. It is compatible with several different types of beam antenna. The 50-Ohm connector allows you to use standard coaxial cables to connect your radio with the driven element on your aerial. Since the jack supports all classes of 50-Ohm input, you could use transmatch circuitry to hook up a twin-lead or ladder-line element.Operation on the 144 MHz band isn't confined to simplex or repeater use, either. You'll be able to use the same PSK31 modes found on all Yaesu equipment. Audio frequency-shift keying support gives you the ability to use RTTY, SSTV, Olivia MFSK, and other digital modes. This radio is compatible with digital transmission software that's free of copyright restrictions. That means stations that adhere to open-source standards can use it without compromising their installation.
