Simple to use, great sound.
Love it. I wanted a quality streamer that plugged straight into my stereo. The MusicCast system is very simple to use, while still being powerful. I can play files from my network drive, and also send whatever I'm streaming to any other bluetooth speaker/headphone. Highly recommend. paid a little more than i wanted to but I think its worth it.
I could not find one of these in canada I suspect because Yamaha has rolled out there more expensive and feature packed pre and pre+amp combo. These new options were way more expensive and was more than i needed. I run a heavily modified audiromy 828a tube amp and tube preamp in my main system. The wxad has a decent dac chip and plays my spotify music well. I also liked the idea of using Yamaha's stand alone speakers in other rooms that pair with this wxad-10. Fine network streamer, but there are alternatives
This Yamaha allows you to stream music from your phone or tablets, via 2.4Ghz wifi, to your existing hifi system. It's compatible with tidal, spotify and couple of others streaming platform, but for example not quboz. The setup is reasonably easy but you'll need to have 2.4Ghz wifi on, it can not use 5Ghz. Also it requires you to give location permission, so some data snooping is required too for you to install the music cast app. One thing to note is that the only the 3.5mm jack connection has volume control, so when you use the regular interconnects, you'll have to control the volume via your hifi system. In the end, I'm not sure if this is a worthwhile product, just because of alternatives. For a little bit more money you can try to get your hands on a LG V30 or V40 phone - anything with the quad DAC, put it in a stand, connect the 3.5mm headphone jack and enjoy all the same music quality (if not better) with touch screen interface and much more apps to steams from. Good music streamer
Overall a good music streamer. I found that I got a better sound having a wired connection and streaming flac. Lack of volume control on the music cast app is a little bit of an issue; although I know that this is an option if I use the 3.5mm connection my amplifier does not have this connection. Top performance with ease of use.

Like having a Juke box in your living room only smaller

Harsh popping
I bought the device to play higher quality media files from my phone over my stereo. Whenever I play/pause or change tracks, either the device or app creates a horribly loud pop noise which is both abnormal and intolerable.. you'd cringe if you heard it. The issue seems isolated to playing media files from my phone as there's no such problem whilst streaming from Spotify. I isolated the issue to The Aux input of my JBL party box 1000.
