The Kenwood TS 830S Radio Transceiver is an old-school, timeless radio transceiver that may have hardly lost its sound quality with time. The Kenwood TS-830S’s unique design can allow you to carry the compact steel dome with a sturdy carrying handle. The knob has strategic arrangement and shape, which an make this radio not only beautiful to look at but also easy to operate. The knob’s durable construction can make it resistant to scratches, even after extensive use. The built-in power supply can reduce the amount of clutter you have, which can give you a powerful radio transceiver with fewer cables. The SSB feature of the Kenwood TS-830S can be tailored by using the VBT and shift controls so you can reject adjacent channel interface if you wish to. The Kenwood TS-830S is a hybrid radio transceiver that can support both AM and CW bandwidths. This model radio transceiver has style along with functionality, which can give balance between form and function that can be both beautiful to look at and constructed with superior engineering. The audio reports can be of high quality while using the microphone, and the audio processor can be very effective with SSB receive. The mechanics are built with quality despite being vintage from the 1980s, and receive audio can be excellent. The knobs on the front panel are different sizes and shapes so you can know which nob you are touching without having to look. The Kenwood TS-830S hybrid radio transceiver has a number of excellent features, including WARC bands, Notch filter, noise blanketer, and variable bandwidth tuning. The range is 160-10 meters with a 25 kHz marker and IF output. This model radio transceiver supports RIT and XIT, IF shift, VOX, AGC slow, fast, or off and it also has an RF attenuator and a speech processor. The Kenwood TS-830S was designed for SSB and CW modes in the 160 through 10 meter ham bands and also includes the 30-, 17-, and 12-meter WARC bands. The power input is 220 watts PEP SSB with 180 watts DC CW. The receiver does not have general coverage receive, but the finals are a pair of 6146 tubes. This can be a great compact ham radio transceiver, measuring 13.3 inches by 5.3 inches by 13.37 inches. It weighs 29.8 pounds, but it has handles that can make carrying this unit a breeze. To power the unit, it has an internal power source but requires 120 VAC 50/60 Hz 295 watts. A number of accessories are available for this model radio transceiver, including external manual antenna tuner, pan adapter, deluxe VFO spinner knob, hand mic, mc-50 microphone, and external remote analog or digital VFO. The Kenwood TS 830S radio transceiver may have been constructed in the 1980s but it may have stood the test of time for years, and you could definitely add this to your collection of ham radios and radio transceivers. It is a beautifully constructed radio transceiver with a gold finish that can be a great radio transceiver even in these modern times. The greatest Hybrid ever produced!
New ham or old ham, just listen to the bands. You will always hear and know who's using this great hybrid. The 830S will hold it's own and actually out performs anything produced today. Listen to the TS-830S receive audio, you can listen to it all day without fatigue. The output audio will always draw comments and praise. Serviceability is excellent, if you are unable to do the work yourself, there are those out there that eat, drink and sleep with this hybrid and are quite knowledgeable. Parts are readily available and so is a vast knowledge base on the web. Provided a particular 830S hasn't been hacked, a less then perfect operating one is well worth reviving. Most times, one could return it to like new specifications. One note of warning, most techs today are usually knees and elbows into their circuit boards. Once the covers are removed, High Voltage is ever present! Discharge this voltage before sticking your fingers into the chassis! Do your homework and research. The best of the reliable hybrid HF rigs from Kenwood.
It is uncomplicated to use once you understand how to tune the radio with tube finals. The radio is easy to use, especially the fact is does not have menus to deal with, and the audio (receive and transmit) is excellent. The controls are easy to work with since it has fewer buttons and knobs and a larger face plate so it is not crowded. It is also much easier to work on than the newer radios. Hybrid radios rock!
Ham radio operators have realized what guitar players have known for years .... tube amplifiers out perform solid state amplifiers. The Kenwood 520, 820, 530 and 830 are some of the best of these hybrid radios (transistors for the receive and vacuum tubes for amplified transmit). The other hybrid radios worth mentioning are the Yaesu FT101 (E,EE,EX,ZD), FT901, and FT 902. These radios put out up to 120 watts, there are no "menus" to deal with (just good old knobs, buttons, and switches), and they sound GREAT on the air! 5 stars!!!Bestätigter Kauf: Ja
