The incredible quality of the BluRay- it's heaven for a Prisoner fan.
The incredible quality of the remastered programmes, combined with the tons of extra features, and on sale for just £25 - it's heaven for a Prisoner fan. gas is pumped through his keyhole, causing him to pass out on his bed.
He awakes in what appears to be his bedroom. Upon looking outside, he has a terrible shock. He is now in some Italianate village, from which he rapidly discovers, there is no escape.
He is given the number 6. His main adversary, desperate to get the details of why he resigned, along with maybe some other secrets, is the ever changing Number 2. Many languages are spoken in "The Village" but nobody, including Number 6, can work out where it is.
The series was shown on ITV in 1967, and those who watched it were fascinated. The beauty is, the series has lost none of its mystery, tension, psychodrama, and sheer addictiveness. Its even better now it's been transferred to BluRay, as the entire production has been completely remastered. The clarity, sharpness, and fine detail are like watching it again only this time, you're wearing your glasses! I had the DVDs set, and it was truly awful. When I saw the reviews of the BluRay set, I had to experience it. I'll leave the extras as surprises, but by crikey, they've done their homework. This set is incredible. £25 very well spent!!
