Shimano IG chain

Ultegra 7 speed chain
The chain failed after a couple of months. It did not fail at the point where i jointed it so I know it was not poor workmanship. It snapped in a random location on one side. Snapped chain resulting In a trip to the hospital.
Fitted this chain to my bike and within a week it has snapped. And caused me to go over the bars and straight into the pavement. I have inspected the chain and found that it was not even the joining link which had snapped but another of the links. Bike chain
Genuinely brilliant chain, the links split easily, I fitted it on a classic Carlton pro racer. I have previously had this chain fitted to a muddy fox road racer. The spare links, I did a shear test on the pins and put over 200 psi on one before it snapped, and on the link, I did a tensile test, and got just over 320 psi, before the link went passed the point of elasticity, and broke.
