seriously flawed
before i start on the problems i'll say this was dirt cheap (£15, new), has a decent display and the pad isn't too bad. now on to its issues, first and most importantly this has no saves , this lack of saves causes serious problems beyond just not saving some games autosave and a number of those simply crash or lock up when the save fails, next, it has no ability to use folders meaning everything has to go into the root directory it also restricts the number of files that you can display (even if you have a lot of roms on your sd card it will only display as many as it allows) thirdly it has no directory sorting so you'll need to find a way to sort it yourself and finally the gameboy advance has l & r shoulder buttons, this device doesn't, opting instead to map them to the x & y face buttons so games that normally use the l & r range from feeling funny to damned near unplayable. overall these flaws completely ruin the experience that should have been possible, i know it costs more but either a gba revo or a gamebox advance will provide a much better experience heck buy a genuine gba sp and a flashcard or try to find a k1 gba sp, anything is better than this. i finally got a response from the makers you can save the game by holding select + y (if i recall) to bring up a save option which obviously improves the experience a lot however the no folders, file limits, sorting and l/r on x/y still cause issues.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Great Emulator For The Price
While I wouldn't recommend this product for the original price of £60, I can overlook it's flaws now that it's a quarter of that. It's not that well built, the plastics feel cheap, the screen came with a small scratch, it flickers occasionally, the button layout isn't like the original GBA, and I could go on. However, for £15, it's cheaper than a working used GBA, and you can just put all your games on an SD card and be done with it. It's a great little console for on the go, although I would like to see GB and GBC support added to it, since some games don't work through the recommended method of using GoombaColour, such as Pokemon Crystal.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Fantastic handheld console! Has some flaws though...
Ok so first off, this console is brilliant for the price and it even came with a 256mb SD card with games pre-installed, which is actually a lot of storage considering how small the game files are. The buttons and controls are quite tactile and everything else works excellent too! This is going to be my main GBA console from now on. A few flaws to mention though: 1. some games can be tricky to play if they require the bumper buttons. I say this since they are placed as the X and Y buttons instead. 2. Charging cable is a bit loose when plugged in, also requires a bit of force to fully put the cable in the port since I didn't know this and though it would break it (it doesn't at all so don't worry) 3. FINALLY PLEASE READ!! I bought this console as a way for me to be able to complete my save games of Pokémon etc instead of using my phone or emulators to do so. Sadly, the console does not read 128kb (or any other sizes below this) versions of .SAV files so I had to replay many of my games to get to where I was at on emulated versions. Basically, if you have emulated versions of your games (or originals like me) that use 128kb or below, please be warned that you CANNOT use them with this console and this is because the console makes 136kb .SAV files for every single game you play. I would really recommend this to people that want to play older GBA games without an emulator or if you are new to GBA and want to experience without an emulator. If you have previous saves that you want to come back to this is not the console for you as like me, you would have to replay your games to reach the same area you are at on your saves elsewhere.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

I feel like a "YELP!" reviewer - The handheld console is awesome!
I ordered it today, and it hasn't come yet but i have been watching reviews and reading up on the handheld console ever since i bought it and i think it is great what you can do with it! I got a 8GB SD card which seems like enough because i have been downloading games onto the SD card that are like 3.5 or 4MB big, which isn't a lot. so either a 16GB or a 8GB will do. Forget the rest - this is the best!
I collect retro consoles and modern handhelds that play retro ROMS, most are rubbish!!! But the Retrospex32 is the exception!! Fantastic picture, great sound, even the free games are good - but the amazing thing is that you can add and delete your own ROMS! Good value for price
Cant complain for the price screen is bright and clear, the sound is good standard and playing games from an sd card means loads of classics can be enjoyed by all ages.
