Awsome unit, great coverage, it worked in all the situations that I needed it to work.
Router was a god send on a trip to Europe. Got an O2 sim card for a great deal, connected no sim cell's, ipad's, laptops to it. Battery length was amazing. I bought this particular unit because it had the widest range of cell frequency bands to help ensure maximum compatibility with carriers around the world. I just need to make sure any carrier I select or look at will operate on the units frequency bands. The unit worked far better than taking my North American phone with data plan extended to destination. My only complaint and is probably due to a default setting was that the modem would go into sleep mode and I needed to pull it out and press the power up button at times. I didn't confirm if the Hauwei app would wake up the unit or not. The strap is actually a USB cord but you have to be careful because the larger connector will fit into a connect in either orientation but one orientation will make contact with the charging pins. Always confirm the unit is plugged in and charging before turning away. This device may save your trip
Some time ago I had a situation when I realized that I need my own portable 4G WiFi device. I stayed in a remote place and quickly used the internet traffic provided by the host and was left without access to the outside world. I had to purchase an additional 4G SIM card and use it in the host's stationary access point. I bought this device when preparing for my next trip and was not disappointed. It literally saved me a few days of work. Wired internet at my new place did not work. For a few days I had to use this portable WiFi router. The internet speed was amazing, better than a landline. In part this is due to excellent 4G service in the area, but without a reliable 4G device this would not help. Another important thing I noticed was that the device stayed cool while in use. It was my only access point for about a week, powered by an external USB power supply. I had three devices connected to the WiFi - MacBook Pro, my work computer where I used a lot of traffic, iPhone, and iPad. All three worked fine and the access point stayed pretty cool, which suggests that it could work for a very long time. All you need in a portable modem / router
Reliable and good quality hotspot. Default language is Chinese but you can change it to English. It has the widest frequency bands of cell providers I’ve never seen in a portable modem. You can set it to work indefinitely or work when a device is connected and then shut down. A lot of features you can discover little by little going to the settings interface via web page. very useful purchase.
Great bit of kit. I have not tried it with external aerials yet but it works good using the built-in setup. I needed to contact my provider for their full access codes and feed them in. Not hard to do but care was needed. Not as advertised
