The Penn Battle II 4000 BTLII4000 Spinning Fishing Reel has an instant anti-reverse bearing and five sealed stainless steel bearings. Because of the keying of the HT-100 Versa-Drag washers into the spool, you can use each side of every washer. Using both sides of every washer will offer more range and a maximum drag of 15 pounds. Penn Battle 2 4000 Spinning Reel
Penn reels are time tested and of excellent quality. Dollar for Dollar in the affordable range you cannot do better. Fit and finish is great. Super Smooth retrieve and a very smooth drag system. I have fished the Fierce reels and been happy. This is a step above. I filled it with 30lbs Spectrum braid and a short 20lbs mono leader. Penn Battle II
Recently purchased a Penn Battle II 4000 series for saltwater use. I've used the reel for many hours now trolling for Spanish Mackerel off the NC coast and have found it to be of excellent quality and value. The drag system is great and the reel performed even better than I expected from a value priced reel. I definitely would recommend this reel for anyone fishing near or in shore. Great price, durable, streamline fishing reel
Worked great while sailing / fishing in the caribbean. Paired it with my 8ft G Loomis travel rod. Caught everything from bonefish to barracuda and even a few med size sharks. Drag was fantastic and very smooth with sealed bearings. It held up flawlessly. Charter Captains Choice
Penn Battle 4000 II are great for the saltwater charters I run almost every day. The Penn Battles take a lot of abuse and hold up very well against the client and the saltwater. Better sealed bearings and a large bale helped me to make the Penn Battle 4000 II the backbone of my inshore charter fleet reels. P.S. No better combo than on the Ugly Sticks I use also. Well built, heavy duty, works flawlessly

Excellent reel
