If you're serious about rowing your way to fitness, this is a great product.
There is a reason this is found in most gyms and health clubs - it provides a great all body workout (once you've learned the correct rowing technique), it's easy to maintain, links well with a range of apps and HRMs and is almost indestructible. Without a doubt the Concept C2 is the best indoor erg there is. It is used all round the world in rowing clubs and gyms as the machine to go to due to its reliability and ease of use. With the new PM5 monitor it can connect to a smart phone via the ErgData app which at the end of a workout can update your data to Strava, or any other fitness sire you use and also to the Concept 2 logbook. Learning to row properly so you don’t just yourself or get put off fro trying too had too soon is essential and the site Dark Horse Rowing , with YouTube videos and and on line trading planes if you want, will guide you through your introductory sessions and make you realise using C2 is a GREAT way to get fit and lose weight. They are and investment as they are not cheap especially with some people trying to sell them for twice the retail value but hang in there, you’ll find one at the right price and close enough to pick up. All round fitness machine with exemplary build quality and great monitoring too.
Want to get fit, like a bit of competition, like tracking your goals and all with little or no impact - then a rowing machine, and specifically this one, is for you. My brother a GP has one, told me all about it and I'm so glad I bought it. Build quality is exemplary. The tracking options really useful and overall a really good workout whether you do a few minutes or endurance. Love this machine

Excellent fitness enabler
Although it is not cheap, the Concept 2 is one of the best indoor rowing machines around for use at home. You need a floorspace of around 2.7m x 1.2m to use it, but it folds quite easily for storing in a smaller space. Be prepared to use it regularly (I do 3 x 30 minute sessions per week) in order to get full value from it, but it is an efficient way of getting and staying fit! Quality equipment
If you can afford the concept 2 (and they're not cheap) then don't waste time thinking about other machines. Build quality is so much better than other equipment I've owned.
