Product Information
The series that created the kart-racing genre makes its debut on Wii U with a variety of characters, courses, items, and anti-gravity racing in Mario Kart 8. As always, players can join their favorite characters from the Mushroom Universe as they hop in a variety of go-karts, bikes, buggies, and gliders to compete in light-hearted racing action. Anti-gravitational sections let gamers cling to walls or even race upside down as they speed around more than 30 courses, and the Boomerang Flower and Potted Piranha Plant items offer ways to thwart the competition. Races accommodate up to 12 different competitors in either local solo action or online multiplayer, and in addition to a variety of tracks to tame, players can compete on updated versions of more than a dozen classic courses, including the iconic Mario Kart 64 version of Rainbow Road. Gamers can share their victorious races with the Miiverse by using the Mario Kart TV function, and Mario Kart 8 supports off-TV play so users can stay in the action even while away from the tube.Product Identifiers

Could not be happier.
This game incorporates the old and Nintendo's classic case of adding a new touch and uniqueness to the game. Like all mario karts, you race and beat your competitors, but how we go about this changes. You have different forms of gliders, different karts, different wheels as well as being able to choose different characters with their own unique personality of playing the game. And it's obvious the weapon selection has old and new choices. There are some old levels from the Super Nintendo, to N64, and Gamecube. You even have some levels in the 3DS. Nintendo has always carried a very auspicious incantation that captivates its audience almost comparable to what Disney does with it's movies. Except Nintendo is more driven on unique mechanics that brings everyone together by casual fun that can easily get competitive as everyone is involved. GREAT GRAPHICS.... FAMILY FUN..... WOULD LIKE MORE CONSOLES TO HAVE ACCESS TO MARIOKART AND A BIT PRICEY NEW
This is theeee most fun family game in this universe! I have been playing since the 90s and each edition has been better! Nintendo seems to add just enough everytime to make people enjoy it like a new game. The only thing is I'd love to see Sony and/or Microsoft be able to obtain the rights to MARIOKART so it could be available to play on Sony's Playstation or Microsoft's xBox Consoles. Other then that wish the only thing I could actually say bad about this game is the price of it ecspecially when it is first released although I did purchase mine used for $10 on eBay. Best Mario Kart Ever
Mario Kart 8 is, simply put, the greatest Mario Kart game I have ever played. The amazing graphics and super-fun gameplay make this game a blast to play with friends and establish it as a true classic and a must-have for any Wii U owner. The only negative I have is that the game's battle mode is sadly lacking in quality. With it being the latest edition of the Mariokart series. It completely meets the standards for modern gaming today. The graphics are nice. The game runs very smoothly. And they added the new hover mode feature which I think is really cool. With content literally being thrown at the audience consistently Mariokart 8 is almost a game if you have money for it you should be playing it right now. This is an awesome Game. So much fun

Great family game for all ages

Mario Kart 8
Mario Kart 8 is a fantastic and compelling addition to the series! Great graphics, gameplay, and re-play value! 2 cons if I had to pick about MK8; the AI can be a bit on the cheap side. It just doesn't want you to win 1st place for the cup. It does get progressively hard and cheap as you advance through the cups. It is not like the predecessors if you get good at it then your skill shows every time you play the game. The second con is that the battle mode is not the arena style environment. Wii love it!
My 11 year old son prepared for and won a local Mario Kart 8 competition. We looked up tips and watched fastest times and practiced, practiced, practiced. Toppling him in any race is a blast! This isn't just a racing game. With all of the items and crazy courses, anyone has a chance to lead the pack (at least briefly). You can customize your kart or bike to a degree, and there are plenty of beloved Nintendo characters to choose from.
