Excellent Surround Sound Performance for a Reasonable Price
An excellent speaker system for a medium-sized room (ours is 18 X 12 = 216 sq.ft. and carpeted). Voices are clear, music is very good and the sub-woofer is robust. We were able to use the speaker wires already in place from a previous system; but if you're setting something up for the first time, you may have to buy some. Just check YouTube for some pointers if necessary. Given that the speakers received excellent ratings from virtually all reviewers back in the day, I learned that the key to success is the amp/receiver. I found an Onkyo TX SR393 on eBay and it's a perfect match. There were some Yamaha units on the list of possibilities too. Just review the photos carefully and make sure the connections on the back of the unit are the ones (and types) you need. (After reading a bunch of surround sound installation reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about making everything work. However, we had no problems whatsoever.) After the installation, I was able to adjust the the levels and tones of each speaker through the amp with settings displayed on TV. Also had to adjust the sound synchronization to match the person's lips; but once that was done, it applied to all inputs and could be left alone. The highest we've had the sound level is 54 out of 100. Overall, I'd say we saved a total of $300 - $450 on eBay compared to buying brand new components. Is it worth it?
I was asking myself if this set up would be worth the value. After two failed attempts to find a decent sound bar I went to these speakers and wow what a different sound. The value for the product is spot on. 👌 my review of these speakers comes early , before I even mounted them on my ceiling. These speakers rock. I had to purchase a reciever but it was well worth it for both products. I will be upgrading them one day and I will look for this brand because the quality is up to par. Very nice sound. Clear bass and let me tell you that you can feel the bass from the subwoofer. Only draw back is that the speaker is literally underneath the sub exposed. So im very untrusting that anything small enough can roll under and poke the sub or worse rip it but only time will tell. Overall I give them 10 out of 10. I do recommend them and I would say you won't be disappointed at these speakers they will only elevate your whole home system and make it more theater like sound. Now that I've had them for months I'm adding to the review if it let's me. Overall these speakers are magnificent by far the best clearest bass and sound come from this set of 6 speakers. I've never known sound quality like this in a home other then in the theater. If your looking for theater sound then these are the speakers that will give you all the heart pounding bass it rumbles the floor and the walls but keeps the sound in the room which it's in. Sound quality it's unmatched to these speakers . Only quirk is the sub woofer is on the under side of the speaker. So it faces the ground. I don't know if that's how the effect works or its just a design but gotta watch for what can roll underneath it so you don't puncture it. Awesome 5.1 speaker system!!!
This set of speakers is amazing! The sub fills and shakes the room. The satellites sound great too. Would definitely recommend this set if you’re looking for good satellites and a good sub that sound really nice. Best Bang for the Buck Speakers
Ordered these speakers for a customer to install in his trailer home as part of a 5.1 channel surround sound home theater system. Powering them with a Yamaha RX-V385 receiver. Great sound at a discount price!
The sound quality of this little system is pretty impressive. The speakers are very light which makes them easy to attach to the wall with a variety of speaker mounts. The sub is pretty "thumpy" even for an 8 inch woofer! I have always been a Klipsch fan since hearing their speakers, and am very glad to have this system for my man cave. Worth every penny! Klipsch theater pack
For the price this a great set. Don't expect to have your mind blown but it sounds good, I was really impressed with the subwoofer. The satellites, sound good but in my opinion the center channel speaker was only OK. I have a Yamaha amp which gives me the ability to EQ each speaker individually so I was able to dial in the center, but without using this feature I was not a fan. Best 5.1 speaker Package under $400.
Work well with my Yamaha Receiver, in a small room. bass is full and clean, speakers are crystal clear, unlike the HT in a box that I had from Onkyo.
