Much better
The first case (another brand) I purchased for my Pixel XL was too plastic feeling. Since I had and liked the Otter case on my previous Pixel, I decided to get one for my new phone. Really like the feel!

Excellent protection, reasonable cost, has a belt holster!
I have only had this phone case for a few weeks, so my "durable" rating is based on my past experience with OtterBox cases. However, specifically about this case, I can say that it looks good, feels solid and protective, and goes on easily. I really like to carry my phone on my belt rather than in my pocket, so I appreciate the holster that comes with it. Since I carry it in a holster more than in my pocket, I prefer cases with good traction to them so they don't slip out of my hand. The surface of this OtterBox is an excellent balance between giving a good grip and also going into and out of a pocket (for the times I do toss it into the pocket of my jacket).

Otterbox is the best case for protection!
I have had Otterbox cases before and although they're not cheap, they provide the best protection for your phone. This case was a little hard to get apart, I had to use a screwdriver to prise it apart, but otherwise, it was easy to install. It has a hefty belt clip too, but I won't use that. Some people would probably like it though. I acts as a stand for your phone on a flat surface too. The Defender Series case is rugged without being too chunky. My Pixel 2 XL still fits in my trouser pocket just fine.

Like having your phone inside a tank - But that is a good thing.
After buying my pixel 2 xl I felt unprotected using another case. I decided that to feel safe I needed to use what so many others have already stated. The otterbox defender is like having your phone inside a tank. Is it bulky? yes. Do I care? No. I wanted protection and this case gets the job done.

Great case.
This was my first time using an otterbox in a long time. But, after getting it, I remembered why I chose this case over others in the past. I can literally throw my phone against the wall in the thing and I know it's not going to break the screen.

Husband loves it! He had same model for his previous Samsung cell phone (Wish Otterbox had more choices for the google pixel 2xl for a gal ... I ended up with a Symetry which is almost impossible to turn on phone)

The OtterBox fits well on the phone provides good protection I wish it had a screen cover but that's okay it doesn't. I wouldn't purchased an extra one to protect my boys phones. highly durable I recommend this item ships fast as well.

Great but Not the Best
This is a very vesitile product with secure holding. However, this protective case isa rather bul;ky and it sometimes get in the way. Other than this it is a well thought out product.

As expected
Protective plastic inner case and rubber outer case. Allows for Google squeeze assistance and has a charging port dust cover. Has a risen edge if you put the phone face down. Plastic casing was hard to take apart and put together, so I avoid changing cases.
