Superb performance, great appearance, and unbeatable bargain!
Pilot Metropolitan fountain pens are superb bargains. I now own seven of them, all with fine nibs, so that I can keep a full range of ink colors ready to go. The fine nib is very fine, equivalent to what some manufacturers would call an "extra fine," and I have not yet had one that was scratchy or anything less than incredibly smooth. Pilot's quality control is clearly second to none. The pens have a good heft and balance and, in addition, are quite attractive. I would consider them great buys even if they were priced twice as high.
