Ubisoft's musical instrument sim designed to work with real guitars makes its Xbox One debut with more than 50 new songs, a variety of new and updated modes, and a completely redesigned interface in Rocksmith 2014 Edition. While the game's action takes the form of a color-coded "note highway" that should be familiar to anyone who played Guitar Hero or Rock Band, and the new interface has been designed to be clearer, faster, and easier to use for those who cannot read sheet music, many of the changes in Rocksmith 2014 were made with more experienced guitar players in mind.<br><br>The graduated difficulty settings from the original Rocksmith are gone, letting experienced guitarists immediately jump to the appropriate challenge, and the Session mode finds the in-game band adjusting on the fly as players improvise and jam. Meanwhile, the revamped Master mode lets gamers attempt to take on songs entirely from memory. Plenty of help remains for those who have never played a guitar before, with the Riff Repeater allowing players to focus on specific segments of songs and adjust the difficulty and speed of the music on the fly, while the Guitarcade mini-games return with new activities to help users fine-tune their chords and techniques. The Xbox One version offers upgraded graphics and integrated streaming functionality, and gamers who already own the Xbox 360 version can import DLC across systems.

Great way to learn
I was sad to have to repurchase this for the Xbox One, but I was able to move almost all of my music over (the stuff I had purchased under a separate 360 account that was no longer active couldn't be moved.) This one has a little more lag than I experienced with the 360, but it could just be the difference in set-up too, and it does have an option that helps fix that. Regardless, this is a great way to learn guitar at any age or skill level. The games are engaging and fun, and it's a lot more fun to practice your scales when you're a race car rather than just sitting around reading notes or tabs. The song list that it comes with is great, but the DLC is even better with new additions coming out all the time.

Great game/tool to help you learn to play a real guitar/bass.
Great way to learn to play guitar or bass at your own pace. Of course you'll need your own guitar or bass, but this package is ready to go. You get lessons, arcade style games to help teach you technique, and of course the best part....songs to play along with! Not to mention there are tons of songs you can download from Ubisoft and expand your music collection, and they are reasonably priced. The songs provided are great, and they scale to your skill level so it doesn't have to be too hard or too easy, it will remember and scale to you! Of course you can always turn off the dynamic difficulty and crack up the toughness and try to see if you can keep up with the pros =) The game also has split-screen multiplayer, so you can play lead while a friend plays rhythm or bass. One of the great things about the cable is it's universal, meaning you can use it on Xbox, PS4, PC, etc., so you can always take your cable and guitar to your friends house without having to worry what platform they are on. Just plug your cable in to their system and you're all set. Highly recommended to anyone looking to have a blast while learning to play a real instrument. I went from not knowing a single chord to playing riffs from songs in about 10 sessions. The best compliment is when you play a riff without the game playing and someone says, "Hey, I know that song!". That's the moment you'll realize this was totally worth the purchase price.

Get this! Learn how to play!
I think it's good? I bought this but got sent the wrong version. Make sure that if you get this version it comes with the 6 extra songs. If not just buy the cheaper version because this one does nothing that the old one does not update too. The product itself is amazing. I have it on my 360, and now PC. I got this for the Xbox one but its nothing new especially if you do not get the songs(2.99x6). The product itself is amazing, simply amazing. I own the entire spectrum of music games, this is the evolution of that genre. The Guitar heroes and Rockbands are still a blast but this is something on another level.

Rocksmith 2014 Great 4 me
I love it when learning has been gamified. I can see my incremental progress and practice as slow and fast as I want. Difficulty adjustment, riff selection and practice, mini game modes! This is compatible with XBOX X (for now).

Very nice
I purchased the Rocksmith 2014 edition for Xbox One and got it at a very good price. It's much better than the 360 version and the graphics are easy to see, the sound is good (no delay as others have mentioned) and the tutorials are nice.

Excellent Guitar and Bass Learning Tool!
XBox One Version allows you to transfer any previous DLC from Xbox 360 Rocksmith. Great family entertainment. Excellent learning tool for educators and musicians. Video game with a purpose!

One of the best video games ever!
Learn songs, play fun mini games that help you play guitar. Also buy your favorite songs off of PSN or Xbox live to have more songs to play.

Great game
Awesome game it's really fun and it actually teaches you how to play guitar it has a decent song list just wish it had more metal songs but there is plenty of dlc to download
