Series 2 finds Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip (Matthew Rhys) struggling to connect with their children, whose American lives are vastly different from their own experiences growing up in the Soviet Union. They're also scared that their spy work will come back to haunt their family fears that become terrifyingly real when another KGB couple and their daughter are found executed in a hotel room. Elsewhere, troubled G-man Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich) is targeted by the Soviets, who plan to use his affair with Nina (Annet Mahendru) to turn him into a double agent.

Excellent series with enough action, emotion and plotting to keep you wanting more ....
Saw the first & second series on terrestial TV. Enjoyed them enough to want to watch again. Kerri Russell play a particularly tough character. Not one you'd want to mess with anyway. She's also lovely to look at even when she's got her clothers on. To pick genuine Russians to play the KGB guys was a masterstroke. Having an ex-CIA officer writing some of the scripts adds insight which gives this series its credibilty. Placing the Jennings family in a house opposite the very man who is searching for them, adds an extra layer of tension to the drama. Normally, when a drama series wanders off into the personal lives of the characters, I find it irritating. But in this case it is not only an essential part of the plot but often drives the narrative forward as well as enhances the powerful emotional content of this series. It's worth watching the "extras" on the DVD. The actors explain some of the underlying tensions of individual scenes. I have also purchshed Series 3 & 4 and will doubtless buy the last two in due course. [Series 6 will be the last. See Imdb for in depth background to plot, characters etc]

The Americans Season 2
The series follows on from the first, believable storyline as long as you keep in mind that it's the early 80s and they didn't have the technology we have today. I still have the last two episodes to watch but it's very engaging and entertaining. I will watch the next season definitely.

Crackin' Good Series
This is a Crackin' Good series which highlights why a served my country to protect us from Spy's etc,. during the Cold War, many of the things highlighted in this series actually happened and it thought provoking watching what might have happened to cause the real events highlighted. If you like Spy and espionage then this is a must see series.

Unfortunately the discs are quite scuffed. So far the 1st disc has worked okay (yet to try the other 3)
