Sony's PXW-X70 Professional XDCAM Compact Camcorder is about the same size as a conventional 1/3 professional compact camcorder, but it features a 1 type sensor, which is larger than a super-16 sized sensor and more than eight times the size of a 1/3 sensor. The larger Exmor R sensor size provides for more cinematic appearing depth of field than a 1/3 sensor is capable of and features a back-side illuminated design for improved low light performance. It features an integrated 12x optical zoom lens with a manual lens ring for zoom/focus control, and a three level switchable ND filter. The top handle incorporates two 3-pin XLR inputs for recording audio from XLR microphones. The camera records HD video using the XAVC Long-GOP codec with 4:2:2, 10-bit color sampling at 50 Mb/second, providing footage with a high data rate that is suitable for broadcast applications. Sony's Slow & Quick Motion is built into the camera. The camera features two SD card slots, allowing simultaneous and relay recording, and both a 3G-SDI and an HDMI output. The camera supports control via Wi-Fi using smartphones or tablets and the optional Content Browser Mobile application. Planned upgrades will allow the camera to record in 4K UHD as well as add file transfer and streaming via Wi-Fi.Product Identifiers

Awesome Run-and-Gun Camera
Great. Image. Quality. Very happy with the sharpness and image stabilization. It's difficult to hand-hold for long periods not because it is heavy overall, but because it is front-heavy. Yeah, it's just not balanced very well. Take off the top-handle though and it evens out. But then you don't have the good audio interface. Some of the essential functions, like quickly setting white balance, is tricky, but can be made very easy when you map some of the programmable buttons to exactly what you need. I came to this camera having used Panasonic cameras. And although I like Panasonic's interface, this one starts to make sense when you realize that every function (Iris, Gain, Shutter Speed, White Balance) operates on the principal that you select it to change it, and then select something else to leave it there. Or...you select it to change it, and then press its button again to toggle that function to automatic. It's complicated to describe, but makes sense once you start to use it. I fly it on a Steadicam, and there are times where I need it to automatically handle exposure. It's nice to have it do this by either letting it automatically change iris or gain or shutter speed or any combination thereof. I never have to put the camera into "full auto" mode because I can set only the functions I need to auto and retain control of the rest of the camera. Very handy. Love this camera. Is it perfect? Good Quality and Accessories
For this price, the camcorder provides very good quality for our use. I purchased this as a camera for our church. With the 2nd SD card slot and optical + digital zoom, it will provide the capability to record long programs easily. The light sensitivity is very good for dimly lit areas at an extended distance. It is not an easy camera to use, if you are not familiar with a more professional camcorder. I would recommend that you view one of the 5 or so available YouTube videos to become more familiar with the unit. The only thing that I found that was not as good as expected was the wobbliness of the shoe in the provided tripod and the stiffness of the tripod lateral movement. Excelente compra! Great buy!
Despues de buscar por muchos lados y ver tantas camaras, finalmente compre la mejor. La Sony pwx x70 es una excelente camara, no muy pesada y la calidad de imagen es superior a muchas, sin hablar del sensor. mismatched package
This is a nice camera that is easy to use except for saving recordings to usable format for dvd player. Tripod provided with camera is overwelmed by the weight of the camera at full extended height but can be used if operated remotely and not touching the manual controls. hcsd card is good value and card reader works well.
