A tidy relatively fast and small unobtrusive lens for the mirroless 7R3 or other body.
Lightweight reasonably fast lens that is unobtrusive. I'd been using Leicas for street, documentary work since my first purchase in Turkey in 1959 while in the USAF. Lens used the most was 35mm but wanted wider. Went through 3 bodies with 3 focal lengths. This year, 2019, decided to go to the SONY 7R3 with this f/2 28mm lens. Fantastic for street work! I have to say that this beats the Leica film cameras hands down. And for the money, now at a fixed income, cannot possibly go to Leica digitals. I've adapted some Canon digital lenses for longer focal lengths and zooming but this little lens is my favorite to carry anyplace I go. Sharp little lens
This lens takes very sharp photos for the price. Any distortion is easily fixed afterwards. It's small and light and is perfect for walking around doing street-type photography. This is a much better lens than Sony the kit lens it will replace. Focus seems accurate when it locks. The focus ring is nice and wide and operates smoothly, and I like using it. If there is a con, I would say using manual focus could be easier (or more smoothly to be more specific). If you are already close and turn the focus ring too fast, it's easy to overshoot. Don't Believe Everything You Read
I was a little hesitant when I decided to buy this lens. I read some reviews that said the distortion was terrible. I ordered it anyway and I am very glad I did. This is an excellent lens and great as a landscape, street, or walk-around lens. On my Sony A7II, it produces beautiful color and sharpness. Distortion? Almost non-existant. Perfect complement
This wide aperture, wide angle lens is the perfect complement to the Sony E-mount system. It's compact size and stellar image quality really help to define what's possible with mirrorless cameras. Contrast is great, distortion is minimal, and it is very sharp!. All this in a durable metal construction. Sony 28mm f2 is a beast!
I’m used to using telephoto style lenses and this small compact lens won me over to Sony’s native line of wide-angle lenses. 28mm feels like the perfect travel lens. Great for self-portraits, video, and adding context, environment, and storytelling to an image or video. The f2 aperture is excellent for semi-lowlight areas. It’s sharp wide open and adds a subtle smooth and pleasing bokeh to the background of a subject near the lens. The price is great too for the features offered. It does not have a side button traditionally found on some Sony lenses. Its simple design includes a focus ring and that’s it. The lens hood is helpful in some instances, but not necessary in most. The auto-focus speed, depending on your camera's custom settings and speed may vary, on mine it’s incredibly fast. Almost instant in many use cases as I’m using (AF-C) continuous focus, on a Sony ILCE-7RM2 (A7RII) with focus speed set to “normal” or “fast” for photos and “slow” for video. Love this little lens! Here are a few photos to see bokeh and minimum focusing distance. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone looking at this lens. ✌🏻

A "no-brainer" purchase for price, quality and small size in a great lens.
Every review of this lens says the same thing which upon use becomes obvious. It's a "no- brainer" that for this money you get a tremendous value in a quality lens. It is sharp, fast and in many ways better than lenses 3 times the price. It is also relatively small so that you can use it for street photography. Go check out the huge size of the comparative Zeiss and Sony G Master lenses. The only negative that I have read (but not yet seen) is that it is prone to barrel distortion (like many wide angle lenses). The Sony camera JPEG engine corrects this so that's not an issue for JPEG. If you shoot RAW (which you should do at least some of the time or you have no need for camera equipment like this in the first place) you know that Photoshop and other graphic programs correct barrel distortion. In sum, for price, quality and small size (not to mention the extra goodies of the bundle) this is a great lens.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

The Sharpest 28mm Lens IMHO
The Sony E-Mount Full-Frame FE 28mm F2 lens is superb! I have owned a number of 28mm lenses from several manufacturers. This Sony FE 28mm F2 is a real gem and it is the sharpest 28mm lens from its widest aperture (fast f2) I have ever owned. Besides the stellar sharpness, the auto focus is silent and super fast. The rendition of color is outstanding. The IQ (Image Quality) I get from different lighting environments is consistently outstanding. Big bang for buck. This lens is always on my camera
Great Lens. It is remaining on my camera 24/7. It is a greta all around lens. It has fast autofocus, great image rendering, it is sharp and I can use it in apsc mode to zoom in a little more and it looks even sharper. Its gets the job done flor vlogging, street photography, gimbal shots and handheld shots as well. Im definitely keeping this lens.
