This is FREE at most UK Mercedes dealers. And you have to visit MB to activate it. So why pay for it?
I bought one on eBay, and when I found I would have to get it activated by MB themselves, AND that this is FREE from most Mercedes dealers, I returned it unused two days later. Why pay for it? I read that if you go o to most Merc dealerships and they supply, install it and activate it free, and that was true. In any case, it looks like it is not very useful on pre-2014 cars. Very limited benefits and a bit of an 'iffy' connection with my iPhone. Briliant if you have a very recent car with all of the facilities built-into the car, but this plug-in adaptor has really limited use with 2009-2013 cars. The other thing is that Mercedes apparently receives all of your data on their servers. From their point of view, they get to know the intimate details of your servicing needs, so they can call you in. Makes commercial sense for them. Also mileage, speeds, dates, locations, etc., so the data includes all of your journeys. How long before the insurance companies know too! So I decided to get mine free from my local MB dealer. But I really don't know whether I'll keep it in the car, now I know how little benefit it will give me. But it did make me drool when I went to the MB place and saw how much things had moved on. Mercedes Me Adapter
Really pleased with this adapter (and the accompanying free Mercedes iOS App), as it has beathed new life into my wife's 2009 A180CDi. There was just one disppointment however to find the required 'SEC' code to enable viewing the digital servce reports facility is only available on vehicles dated 2011 onwards, even though Digital Servce records are active, recorded and available for her 2009 A Class and all vehcles post 2008.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Functional and informative

Good in principle but let down by software
Very tedious to set up, with repeated requests to re-input information even after unit says it's ready. Took days of re-visiting to finalise set-up and then it's only questionably better than a cheap 3rd party OBD2 monitoring device.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Would have been a good idea.
Would have been a 5 star, but I found out subsequently that mercedes pulled the adapter app support last August! Rendering the adapter virtually useless. I'm only pleased that I didn't pay any more for it than I have.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Not Operational in Australia
