Awesome Decoder
To anyone wanting to install ESU sound deocders in their HO diesel locomotives, I will recommend this type every time! It saves a crazy amount of space, it has built in resistors for bulbs, or bypass pads if you have LEDs w/resistors, and it's SUPER quick and easy to install. Awesome decoder!

Superb Sound and Motor Control from ESU
This decoder solved all the problems I had with trying to go "sound" in HO scale. I have Athearn Genesis GP15-1's and these engines are rather small in size. I was having trouble being able to fit decoders in the units with adequate speakers. This decoder solved all that and more. I am now able to put these engines in service rather quickly, and will be able to install this decoder in little time...and I am able to install LEDs with the lights board supplied; the sound is INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend this decoder, and all of ESU's products are in need of perusal for your sound needs.

Great decoders
These are my favorite decoders. They are easy to install, very simple to solder to and you can put them into just about any model. The decoder and the board can be separated and the decoder is basically just a select micro. The micro decoder can have a TCS keepalive soldered to it and I like that. Easy to program and set up, easy to install and great sound. I own more than a dozen.

Superb sound and user friendly.
ESU Loksound Select direct decoder boards are now my DCC/Sound board of choice. These boards easily fit inside of most HO scale diesel locomotives. They offer a wiring hook up just like most PC board-equipped models of today. So, they drop right in place. Plus, they offer on-board resistors so you can hook LED's directly up to the board, with no additional resistors or wiring needed. Easy to program and re-program installed or at the bench/tester. Plus, you get all the Loksound quality, with upgrade-able sound files so you don't have to change the hardware when an update to your diesel is made.

Great decoders!
These ESU decoders will add DCC/Sound to just about any HO locomotive. They can be easily swapped to another locomotive if needed and reprogrammed with the LokProgrammer. I have installed these in several Atlas, Intermountain, and Proto 2000 engines. I highly recommend these decoders, as they can be reprogrammed at any time.

Great features
Nice sound, and fairly clear instructions. Solder pads for aux are terrible, but overall it is a good buy.

ESU 73700 DCC Sound Decoder
