Little beast
I love this keyboard. Compared to competitive models from Casio and Yamaha, this feels much better in term of build quality, keybed solidness and most importantly keys velocity. It's very responsive and intuitive. I love the big illuminated chunky buttons. Very easy to find and memorize. This is important when you do a live gig because you'd want the physical interface (buttons and knobs) to be easily accessible and responsive. This keyboard delivers.
The screen is superb. Very simple and straight forward. Text is large, contrasty and easy to read. Again this is important for live gig because you don't want to be burdened with menu digging.
The internal speakers are superb. Very loud and good fidelity but not better than a good external monitors! (That's never gonna happen for keyboards lol)
This keyboard needs 2 things:
1. A way to capture or load samples. Maybe someone in the near future will hack its firmware and allow you to copy samples? Not that it doesn't have that many, apart from the keyboard sets it actually has over 700 sound effects!
2. Instead of the 2-axis joystick to control filter amd modulation, I prefer a 1-axis modulation control wheel and a knob for filter!
Should you buy this keyboard? Well, it depends on what you wanna do; if you are looking to just play, entertain and have fun then this keyboard -true to its name- delivers! If you want to produce from scratch, i suggest looking for a synthesizer like Korg Krome or Roland Juno DS-10, more expensive yes but more features for production. But my personal opinion on that one is just get a midi controller and use DAW software!
