Nice Upgrade AVR-X3600H!
I was looking for a replacement avr for my Pioneer VSX-824. It was a good, solid receiver, but lacked preouts for my external amps.
I missed out on a deal for a Denon AVR-X3300, but stumbled upon this a week later and pounced on it for $699 open box unit.
This is a $1300 receiver brand new (if you can find one), and I can’t tell any difference in condition.
I can now run my vintage Polk Monitor 10B floorstanders as my mains via Emotiva Basx-A300 amp and use the Denon’s internal amps to power my 4 Polk MC80 in ceiling speakers and Polk Blackstone center channel speaker. I use the Denon’s sub out for my Polk PSW505 12” powered sub, and I’ve got a pretty kickin system!
I set mine up manually, as I like the challenge, and quite frankly, I can do a better job than Audissey or Pioneer’s MCACC calibration systems.
For now I’m very happy with the sound, features, and connection options, although I know I will be adding more external amplification at some point; that’s just my thing!
Also, Denon’s customer service has been a pleasant surprise the few times I called them for advice. I had read negative reviews, but I haven’t had any such issues.
Bottom line, I got a quality receiver with everything I needed for around half price through Ebay!
Needless to say I am very happy and would highly recommend this receiver if you can find a deal on one!
