Killer amp with a new 12" 65 Watt speaker from Avatar-Fane!!!
Before you buy this amplifier, order a Avatar-Fane M65 65-Watt 12" Cream Speaker, made in England by Fane Corp. This speaker is a killer for this amplifier. Or go read about the Avatar-Fane M65 12" Speaker! This Boss Katana-50 MKII 50 Watt 1x12 Combo Amplifier has so many features that it's mind boggling! Plus you can download new Firmware and tons of effects for it and it's easy to do. I am getting a very nice Fender Blackface Deluxe Reverb sound out of this combo amp and that's just one setting. Like any modeling amp, you have to play with it and adjust it the way you want it to sound...and it does take some time to get it just right. But once you do, WOW, you will be amazed at what you come up with. This amplifier will crank it out too. But the clean tones are what I like so I sought out all the clean tones and versions I could come up with and the results were fantastic. The MKII does not have a 1/4" Speaker cabinet output to plug your favorite speaker box into. But there is a very easy way to modify this with a Boss Factory kit you can buy to add a 1/4" jack onto the back of this cabinet. You have to be mechanically inclined and know a little about changing out or converting various components, switches, and input/output jacks. But it's not rocket science! Anyway, this amp may be small, but man oh man it can kick your butt across the room as good as any 50-Watt amp, maybe even better than some you have most likely tried over the years. I have a lot of amplifiers, too many really, but this one has me hooked with the tone right now. At the price of this amp, you would be hard pressed to find a better one in this amp specifications/rating category! Oh, and you can pick this little amp up and carry it anywhere, it's that light. Deserves its reputation
There's a reason this amp is a runaway hit. It's very affordable, has familiar control panel knobs, looks nice and gets very good sounds very easily right away. With the Tone Studio free software, you can dig down into the inner settings and get at all 60 of the virtualized Boss pedals included to program the front panel with your favorite setups. It only weighs 25 pounds and seems lighter than that to pick up. The speaker and amp seem to be well tuned for each other. I wish it came with a footswitch included and a slipcover would have been nice too but those details aren't a dealbreaker - I can get both separately. I suppose omitting those is part of keeping the price so low, making it affordable for almost anyone.

Good for the pros too.
Bought this as a gift for my guy. Was risky because he is a seriously good professional guitar player. He has a 30-year old amp that’s awesome but weighs 70 pounds. This one weighs 11. He’s particular about his sound, and after working with the Boss he likes it better. I’m stunned. I thought the Boss would be a great practice amp but he will use it at gigs with a full band.

Boss katana mkii 50
Well what can i say?....i started out just going to get a little practice amp to get back into electric guitar after a 7-8 year break with only an old acoustic from Marlborough miles about 30 years old lol....I'm REALLY glad i decided to just spend a couple hundred for a good amp....and THIS one is incredibly awesome and surprisingly small and light for a 50 watt 112 amp ( i think it even has a preamp tube like a 12ax7 maybe but not 100% sure yet....JUST got it but I'm ALREADY impressed lol

Great little amp with many variations of effects. I wanted something easy to carry around but with good sound. Fun amplifier.

Great Amp at a Great Price
Great amp at a great value. I'm a beginner that needed a better sounding amp from the Fender Frontman 10. The katana is ausome. Lots of options and works with the Boss Tone Studio so you can dowload patches for all music tastes. The software is easy to use and works great. I was between this amp and the Positive Grid Spark. Either way you can't lose. I suse it as a practice amp. 50 watts is way more than I need. I run it at 2.5 watts and it is plenty loud.

This is the best small combo guitar amp on the market.
This is by far the best little combo guitar amp on the market. Great modeling effects at the touch of a dial and sounds excellent. Light-weight and perfect for practicing and small venues. Highly recommended for for all levels of guitar players. A lot of amp for very little money. Can’t go wrong with this Boss Katina 50 amp.

Rockin lil amp
My 1970 Ampeg bit the dust. And in waiting for the hopefull repair .Decided to buy this lilttlenpower house and that it is with a lot of my preferred effects built in Trust me it's not a Tube amp But Damn it it sounds really good and it's got some good wet sound with out adding other pedals great job Katana. It will be my practice amp for as long as it survives the electric punishment I give it . Keep rocking peace Sammy Smith under 300 keeping it real.

Down sizing my rig
I was looking to downsize my rig. I kept looking at the 1x12 50 watt, finally bought it. Should have bought it long ago. Great amp. The band plays a lot of different styles and so does this amp. Loud enough for clubs and smaller venues. With the software you can get any sound you want. For me it does the basics very well. I know Katana has larger amps but, for me it was all about down sizing.

I'm very impressed with the value and punch of this little combo amp. I am running my pedals straight into the clean channel (gain at 50%). I was almost completely satisfied with this setup. I just needed a little bit more, so I added a graphic EQ at the end of the chain (which stays on). and BAM!! It's worthy. I have not tried to go into the computer editing. Everything is original. I'm totally happy with the sound I have now.
