Product Information
Superman must save the day once again from the tough characters of Metropolis in this Atari Superman video game. Lex Luthor is on the loose and has blown up the Metropolis Memorial Bridge. Clark Kent needs to find a phonebooth quickly to change from a conservative Daily Planet reporter into the heroic Superman. This Atari video game tests reflexes and speed by requiring Superman to dodge Kryptonite satellites, seek out Lois Lane to recover his strength after coming in contact with the Kryptonite, and catching Lex and his army of villains to put them in jail for a long time to make the streets of Metropolis safe again. While flying with a bad guy in custody, Superman must fly through the bars on the jail, otherwise, when he lands the bad guy will try to escape. Search for the three pieces of the bridge, and as each piece is found, use it to rebuild the bridge. The quicker this is handled the better, so that the bridge can be rebuilt before the helicopter removes all the pieces and Superman will have to start over. Be efficient and speedy to rebuild the bridge and in capturing the bad guys because Atari is keeping track. Keep an eye on the time in the upper right corner of the video screen as Superman progresses through his achievements. On the upper left of the screen, six markers will appear. Each of the five smaller marks represents Lex’s evil followers. The sixth marker, which is the largest, depicts Lex Luthor. The backdrop of this Atari game is a colorful contrast of the city skyline against a purple, blue, or orange sky. Superman’s favorite mode of travel is flying. Use the joystick controller to fly him across the screen to the east, west, north, or south. Each of the screen frames Superman enters is a city block within Metropolis. Superman can use his x-ray vision to see beyond the current location and into the four adjoining frames. Although his x-ray vision is a unique strength, use this ability wisely because Superman cannot move while using x-ray vision, resulting in him being vulnerable to Kryptonite satellites on the attack. Atari’s Superman is a member of the cartridge family of video games, which play on the Atari 2600 video game console and are viewable on a television screen. The two joystick controllers make it possible to play this Atari game with one or two players. The player using the left joystick controller has the ability to move Superman to the left and to the right. The right controller moves Superman up or down. If only one person is playing, that player has the choice to use either the left or right joystick controller. With two players working in unison, Atari can teach teamwork, communication, and leadership skills. You can add the Superman Atari video game to an existing superhero collection. You can keep playing the Atari Superman video game and strive to beat your last score. Video games are a form of entertainment that can also teach strategy, so by using considerable thought and planning, beating the last score can become easier.Product Identifiers
