Great remake
This movie is engaging from beginning to end. Disney did a wonderful job in putting together a great cast. Incredibly entertaining. I've watched this twice (originally in the theater) with my 6 year old son. He sat through the movie both times. He loved the music and special effects. With the exception of one scene (I won't spoil it) it was age appropriate. At home over the holiday we watched this and the original animated film back to back. He thought it was great.

Wonderful movie and great transaction
Phenomenal remake and smooth transaction. Always worried with these live versions, and they usually disappoint. However, I have to say I like this one better than the cartoon version, and I did not think that was possible. Scenes were more flushed out and better background and reasoning were given, but not too much. I was always a little disappointed the cartoon version ended so abruptly and you were just supposed to believe everyone lived "happily ever after." This one takes it just a little bit longer, and makes it a much better ending. Great movie.

Great princess,family movie!
Cute movie and fun to watch. Animation is neat and special effects are great. Storyline pretty true to original cartoon. Beast was great, Belle and Gaston, ok, could have chosen better ones, but it was still pretty good. Like the ending. Children under 4 may be scared at the scene where the beast fights the Gaston character. My 7 year old liked it. I give it thumbs up overall.

The English version of a French story. Really good!
I had never watched Beauty and the Beast until I babysat grandkids and they had an animated version. Intrigued, I found two live action movie versions online and watched this one. Wow! Very interesting. It seems to be taken from and kept true to the original French story written by a French author. No dancing tea pots in this movie... it's the same story but completely different... better!

Wonderful adaptation of the animated version.
This is an extraordinary masterpiece! The special effects are unbelievable. The young lady that plays "Beauty" is a perfect match for the part. She is excellent in both acting and singing. The man who plays the "Beast" has a powerful and dramatic singing voice, and is also a wonderful actor. Of course, what can you say negative about "Nanny McPhee"? Nothing. As Mrs. Potts, she becomes even more lovable. This is a favorite movie of ours. We watch it over and over again. I cannot find anything negative about the film at all. Billy and Judy

Excellent adaptation!
I loved the Beauty and the Beast cartoon and was leery about the live action. I was super happy after watching it to find that they followed the cartoon almost exactly the same. There are a few added songs and scenes but most of the songs you already know the words to from the cartoon. And yes there was the added "gay" reference but it wasn't something the kids are necessarily going to pick up on. It has beautiful scenery and costumes as well. Worth a watch.

Great DVD
I think Beauty and the Beast is a great family movie, I would say the movie was well done and the actors and actresses in the movie played there roles perfect. If I had to recommend a movie to someone I would recommend Beauty and the Beast any day. I also love this movie.

Entertainment for the whole family.
The storytelling and musicality is awesome! I bought it to let my parents watch on their big screen tv. My only dislike is the one line of a song that says "no one bites like Gaston" was totally inappropriate. "No one fights like Gaston" would work fine.

Live version of an animated classic.
An interesting take on the animated classic. If you're expecting to see humans playing out the animated characters, you may be disappointed. If you give it a chance to be what it is, you might just enjoy it.

Beauty and the Beast
Although I fondly remember anime of a much loved story on screen and home's all over the world. Emma Watson "exploded" a major part that screamed " Belle ." Her beauty, talent and grace wins me over each time, making her timeless. Following the original to a tee, with a blessed twist. I give it 5 out of 5 stars!*****
