Great product. Well-needed boost to my PL-20.

Brilliant addition to power-hungry dynamics and ribbons!
All I can say is "wow!" This thing turned the Sm7B into a whole different beast. You know how people say that you have to "eat" the Sm7B? That's not the case anymore. I can now deliver so much clean gain to the Sm7B that it's getting nearly as sensitive as a condensor! Used with Audient iD14 preamps and with Focusrite Octopre Platinum with AMAZING results! "Wake Up Your Low Gain Dynamic Mics"
The Cloudlifter(TM) does exactly what it is designed to do. The question is - Do you need it? Totally subjective to you and your and your pre-amp quality, plus the microphone(s) you use with it. Check out the many very good reviews on YouTube to help you decide. It is a specialty device and you need to know when and how to use it and when to leave it out of your signal chain. It will truly bring to life a SM-7B, a EV-RE-20, a EV-PL-20, because these are known as low gain dynamic mics. and most any weak ribbon mic I've used it with, not to mention any Dynamic Vocal Microphone like Shure SM57/58s, etc. and many others that could use a little 'wakeup call' if you have weak pre-amps in your recording interface. Great product for my ribbon microphones!
Such a good problem solver! I love my ribbon microphones (Reslo Celeste and Beyerdynamic 260) and knew they could be more useful to me if I could get more gain without noise. Now my Beyer is my go to for acoustic guitar. It already was for my saxophone, but it's found a new versatility. And with the Reslo, which isn't the greatest ribbon mic, it's become my go to for some vocals. That is a very low output mic (50 ohms!) so I needed so much gain before. Did just what I wanted
I use this with a MXL ribbon Mic that has an upgraded transformer. Still my Scarlet interface preamp didnt have enough gain. With this now I have achieved a freakin' amazing sound. Perfect for ribbon mics - VERY low noise
I have some low-output ribbons (vintage Beyer), which can barely get to standard recording levels even with quality mic preamps with 60 dB gain. Noise becomes an issue with the preamp trim cranked all the way up, even on the best preamps. This CL-1 (pre-preamp?) has an unbelievably low noise-floor. It adds 25 dB gain to the mic, and it is absolutely silent. Now I want to get several more for the remaining ribbon mics! Highly recommended.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Great product

Great product with no audible noise induced. Setup includes Shure SM7B Mic and Focusrite Scarlett Solo Gen3. If you have a mic with a low noise floor design and need to raise up your dB floor in a studio or podcast use case (example some condenser mics) this is the perfect product. Perfect studio tool
