"Wake Up Your Low Gain Dynamic Mics"
The Cloudlifter(TM) does exactly what it is designed to do. The question is - Do you need it?
Totally subjective to you and your and your pre-amp quality, plus the microphone(s) you use with it.
Check out the many very good reviews on YouTube to help you decide. It is a specialty device and you need to know when and how to use it and when to leave it out of your signal chain. It will truly bring to life a SM-7B, a EV-RE-20, a EV-PL-20, because these are known as low gain dynamic mics. and most any weak ribbon mic I've used it with, not to mention any Dynamic Vocal Microphone like Shure SM57/58s, etc. and many others that could use a little 'wakeup call' if you have weak pre-amps in your recording interface.
I have three Cloudlifters - They work well, for me.
* IT WILL NOT WORK WITH CONDENSER MICS. NOT WHAT IT WAS MADE FOR. THEY DO NOT NEED IT.
