Lightweight and fast, but not stable or high quality
My boar broke after literally only 20 minutes of riding. Not an exaggeration and not from crazy use. I got to ride it for 20 minutes and then it just wouldn't start up again after I had stopped at a light.
While it *was* working, it felt extremely dangerous to use. I've used other electric skateboards before, and those felt much more secure and stable while riding. Some of this can be attributed to the fact those were longboards, but with the Acton board, not only do you get speed wobbles while using, its wheels are also so small that any bumps or bits of branches in the road could send you flying.
Additionally, the remote to control your speed is very low quality. Unlike withe Boosted Board remote, this does not reset itself to 0 when you let go. So it's not like a wheel you push up on, and when you let go it automatically returns to normal and slows down. Rather, the Blink Board's remote is a stick that when you push up it stays there, whether your hand is on there or not. I found this extremely dangerous and unhelpful while using.
The final point that really solidified how dangerous this product was was the braking. On the Boosted Board, you come to a smooth gradual stop, even when you brake hard. Imagine a straight line going down at 45 degrees. Deceleration was smooth and uniform. With the Blink Board, it brakes in jerks and halts. Rather than a smooth, uniform deceleration, it'll drop speed *immediately*, then coast at that for a couple seconds, then drop again unexpectedly. Rather than a smooth line at 45 degrees, it's like a series of random steps of varying heights. Even while riding at low miles per hour and knowing well ahead of time when I'd need to stop, I never felt comfortable or safe while breaking.
