Simple to use. It works!
The 3rd Gen Google Chromecast is rather easy to use and set up. You can power it from a USB port on the back of your TV, or use the included wall-wort. It plugs into an HDMI port. Download Google Home onto your tablet or smart phone, and follow the instructions to set it up. It requires a WiFi signal which is also used by the device from which you will be casting to the TV. We use this new 3rd gen Chromecast to replace an older version that quit working properly after years of use. We cast from social media and YouTube to our TV through the Chomecast with no problems at all. This version of Google Chromecast is HD only, and doesn't provide 4K UHD. I considered the more up to date Google Chromecast with Google TV, but I don't need everything it provides since I already have a smart TV.
