Last upgrade for a Dell XPS 600
Have a great condition XPS 600 so I decided to upgrade it to it's max using all Dell parts offered to the 600. I upgraded from a pentium D 945. While the performance increase is not spactaular it is a upgrade. Most noticeable difference is it can now play 1080p which the 945 was not able to at a watchable frame rate. I was able to up most games settings as well. It unlocked over clocking capabilities for the 600. Now the downside is more heat over the 945 but I expected that. Great upgrade for my vintage gaming machine. Even made it more interesting to use. The price the 965 fetches is out of line with performance but you have to pay to play. This is the top dog for the old netburst CPU. I don't know what it is but old games just feel better on hardware from that time period. My vintage set up..
