  • Great All Around Amp for all but Metal

I have been wanting one of these for some time and finally found one at a very good price. It is very versatile with two channels (actually 1 channel w/ two pre-amp sections), mid-boost, reverb, and tremolo. I don't need any more. I did change out the V1 tube to a 5751 for smoother, more controllable OD and like the result. The latest iteration (Delta Blues II) comes w/ a footswitch (previously not included). There are two stereo footswitch jacks; one for channel and boost, the other for reverb and tremolo. Small complaint of the included footswitch...it has no led's to show what is selected, and the PV fs that has led's does not function with this amp. You need to get either a Boss FS-6 or another brand w/ led's specifically for this amp (either must use a battery for the led's). Not a huge detractor....just saying. It can cover Blues (obviously), Country, Oldies R&R, Rockabilly, and Classic Rock....probably more, but that's what I do. I think it's as good as you can get in it's price range. I would categorize it as a close competitor to Fender's Blues Deluxe Reissue which I also own. Both are similarly priced. The PV can get somewhat more crunchy than the Fender and the Fender w/ it's 6L6's a bit cleaner. Something about a 15" guitar speaker that is unique (in a good way). They're worth test driving if you're in the market.

  • Love my Peavey Delta Blues...

I chose the 115 Delta Blues because of it's "fuller" sound, compared to the 210 version. The reverb is very good, giving nice depth at 5-6, and certifiable for surf at 12. The tremolo is sweet, and goes from a slow throb to tachycardia (okay, so who wants tachycardia, right? Check out Quicksilver Messenger Service's album "Happy Trails". On tracks "Mona" and "Who Do You Love", the late John Cipollina uses it (along with a very early Wah pedal) to help make these versions of the songs "definitive", as their composer Bo Diddley said after he heard them.) This amp also has an excellent overdrive circuit. It will serve up Clapton/Cream distortion at tolerable volume levels that work for practice, and then can peel paint when you play out. It's a very loud 30 watts. Like the reverb and tremolo, the overdrive is easily adjusted to your preference, and very responsive. It has effects send/return, and a jack for an extension speaker. Sadly, there's no headphone jack, so I wired one in. I've been playing since 1964, and know nothing's perfect, but this amp is the real deal, and reminds me of Stevie Ray Vaughn and his Vibroverbs. Hope that helps!

  • One of the best affordable tube combo amps ever made!

I've had them all. Of course I prefer a 4x12 stack when possible, but this 15" speaker roars with a nice thick sound. Much better than the mid-scooped 2x12 sound, and a lot lighter. Tone-wise, the Delta Blues 115 is like a cross between a Tweed Bassman and a Vox AC30. Not as gainy as the Classic 30, but this makes it very pedal friendly. The spring reverb is reminesent of the old Gibson amps, warmer and smoother than Fenders, and the optical tremolo is superior as well. I have the older USA-made model which only lets you foot-switch the channels and the tremolo, whereas the new version has full switching. But the speaker is different and it's made China so the hell with That! No buyer's remorse here!

  • Awesome

This amp is in the line of models that have the tone so sought after for the premium sound, regardless of music genre...bottom line. The tone is simply tough to match.
